The summer riding camp is a hands-on horse camp that covers safety both on and around horses and ponies. We also cover the handling/grooming of horses as well as the parts of the horse and various types of tacks. All of our camp helpers are CPR & First Aid Certified!
Our camp days consist of a morning riding session which includes learning to tack up the horse in both English & Western tack. Our campers then enjoy lunch followed daily by a horse related craft and hippology lesson. Once lunch has been completed, an afternoon riding session is started for more fun and excitement! Throughout the week, campers will also gain knowledge on the nutrition and healthcare of horses.
On Thursdays of every camp week, campers will spend the afternoon doing a craft and practicing demonstrations that show off everything they’ve learned throughout the week.
Friday Show Day!
Every Friday afternoon during camp weeks, High Ridge Farm LLC provides a day for parents, relatives and friends to enjoy a pizza lunch and view the newly learned knowledge of their campers. Campers will do demonstrations on various aspects of caring for a horse, as well as show off their riding skills in a Campers Horse Show. We encourage families and friends to attend the eventful afternoon with their campers. We also encourage anyone who plans to attend to bring your lawn chairs!
Summer riding camps occur Monday – Friday of select weeks, from 9am – 4pm.
